Renault Clio V6 Returns After Upgrades

It has taken nearly 5 months to complete the work but finally the car has been returned to me today.

The work carried out has been major and there have been countless phone calls between myself and Scott at SG Motorsport.

The work carried out included the fitting of the following:

  • Original Clio V6 Trophy race car Spoiler
  • Russo front splitter
  • Clio V6 race car Cromodora wheels
  • Renault Sport race steering wheel
  • OMP steering wheel hub
  • TTV lightweight flywheel
  • KW Suspension
  • K-Tec suspension mounts
  • Recaro Pole Position low seat mounts
  • Recaro Pole Position seats with customer ‘Renault Sport’ headrests
  • Complete spare set of engine covers including the side panels

The main problem has been with the Renault Clio V6 Trophy Cromodora wheels. I was warned that they would not fit the car due to the wheel offsets however I wanted to try for myself. Whilst the front Cromodora wheels and tyres fit fine there have been problems with the rears. I wanted large width tyres on the rear and when tested these caused some rubbing on the wheel arch. I have had narrower tyres fitted that also reduce the height of the tyres. Scott has run a number of tests on the new tyres and is confident that the rubbing is eliminated.

Scott delivered the car to me and I was very excited to see it come out of Scott’s covered car trailer. The car is transformed. The outside looks amazing with the Cromodora wheels, Trophy spoiler and the front splitter. The interior looks fantastic too with the custom Recaro Pole Position seats and Renault Sport steering wheel. I now sit a lot lower in the car and this is just what I wanted.

I look forward to taking the car out for a spin, but for now it will be stored at work over Christmas.
