Mercedes AMG GTS 'Edition 1'
After the disappointment of owning the BMW M4 Convertible, I decided that I wanted something far more special. I had seen a couple of Mercedes AMG GT cars during my travels, and the sporty looks of the car and the impressive sound track had caught my attention.
A quick trip to my local Mercedes AMG dealer confirmed that this was going to be my next car. Being a golfer boot space is a pretty high priority. The boot in the AMG GT is more than sufficient for golf clubs and luggage, and it opens through into the cabin area.
The Mercedes-AMG GTS has the Porsche 911 in its sights with sleek styling, storming V8 performance and plenty of tech.
by Auto ExpressAfter some research I found out that Mercedes had introduced a limited edition AMG GTS called the ‘Edition 1’, and there were about 50 supplied to the UK. It came with leather and Alcantara-wrapped sports seats and steering wheel, as well as red seat belts, a carbon fibre roof and a special body kit with a fixed rear spoiler.
It took a few months of searching before I found my perfect ‘Edition 1’, which was believed to be one of two UK cars painted in Fire Opal Red and it only had 3,250 miles on the clock. Importantly, it came with the AMG Dynamic Plus package that improved driving dynamics. This was achieved by providing dynamic engine and transmission mounts, a more rigid sports suspension and a specific engine map. It came from an independent dealer and was very competitively priced.
