Lotus Exige S LF1

After the sale of the Renault Clio V6 I decided to look for replacement that I could take on race tracks. After some research I came across the Lotus Exige S a hardcore, track-focused car with a supercharged 345bhp engine and a manual gearbox matched with legendary handling. Although it's a small car, I could fit in it and there was enough room to wear a helmet too.

As my search began for the perfect Exige S I came across a limited edition model the LF1. There were only 81 examples made, each celebrating a Lotus F1 race win. They came in black with gold red and gold accents and gold wheels. Inside the LF1 had black and gold seats and F1 logos on the headrests and floor mats. The Lotus LF1 only came with three additional options to their standard specification, these being the convenience pack, rear parking sensors and headed seats.

With less weight and more focus, the Exige S LF1 feels a very Lotus way of making an already fast car even faster.

Only a couple of LF1's were for sale at any one time but after a couple of months I found my perfect car. The Lotus Exige S LF1 I purchased was pre-owned with only 1,100 miles on the clock and had some additional Lotus decals added to the doors. It had all three options and the plaque inside the car celebrated Lotus win number 38, Jochen Rindt at Zandvoort in 1970. At the time of purchase I had the Lotus front tow eye and rear towing strap added. Additional to the standard specification I had fitted a harness bar, Schroth custom race harnesses and Ventureshield protective film.

The performance and handling of the LF1 really impressed me. But, after a few track days including Bedford, Silverstone and the highlights of Spa-Francorchamps and the legendary Nordschleife (Green Hell) I decided to sell the car.
